Lotus Speech Therapy
About the Owner
Jen is a highly skilled speech and language pathologist with extensive experience that spans across various age groups and therapeutic settings throughout her career. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Science in 2018 from Stockton University in Galloway, New Jersey, where she also pursued a minor in Spanish to enhance her language skills. Continuing her academic journey at Stockton, Jen successfully obtained her Master of Science in Communication Disorders, with a specialization focusing on hispanic, latino, and multicultural communities in 2020. During her master's program, she had the remarkable opportunity to present her research in Bogota, Colombia which focused on negative psychological factors impacting second language acquisition in immigrants. Additionally, she served as a teacher’s assistant for her Neurology professor, as well as a graduate assistant supporting the Hispanic Emphasis Specialization.
Following her graduation, Jen relocated to Virginia, where she honed her skills by working in a diverse range of settings including elementary schools, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living environments, and private practice. In 2022, driven by her passion for rock climbing and the range of activities that Colorado offers, she made the move to this picturesque state. Here, she began her work in pediatric home health, a specialization she has embraced wholeheartedly ever since. Jen’s areas of interest in pediatrics encompass language disorders, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, dysphagia, and the complexities of bilingualism. In addition to her work with children, her expertise also extends to adults, particularly in stroke and traumatic brain injury (TBI) recovery, as well as addressing issues related to dysphagia.
Lotus Speech Therapy adopts a holistic and neurodiversity-affirming approach to speech therapy. Jen firmly believes that the most effective way to establish a meaningful connection during pediatric therapy is through child-led, play-based interactions that foster organic and motivating environments tailored to meet each client at their unique level of need.

Lotus Speech Therapy operates on the idea that every person -regardless of age, ability level, and/or diagnosis - deserves individualized care that celebrates their strengths while honoring and supporting differences.
Holistic speech therapy is a treatment model that considers the whole person, including their physical, emotional, and social well-being, to help improve their communication skills. It goes beyond traditional medical models by taking into account a person's lifestyle, environment, and overall well-being.
Neurodiversity-affirming speech therapy is a respectful and inclusive approach to therapy that values and celebrates neurological differences. It's based on the idea that brain differences are natural and that conditions like autism, ADHD, and dyslexia are variations of the human brain.
Therapy at Lotus is completely child/patient led and incorporates therapy into their interests. Therapy is conducted in an organic manner that does not rely on compliance or rigidity for progress. All forms of communication are honored while respecting the individual’s bodily autonomy.
